Last weekend, Mr. Uchiyama and Mr. Brian gave the speech about SMC in City University of Hong Kong. I also fortunately joined the lecture. They initially introduced SMC’s philosophy, mission and market position to many students, and then explained how SMC grows up such a bigger company.
先週、内山さん・ブライアンさんが香港城市大学にてSMCについての講演を行い、これまた幸運なことに私も参加させて頂きました。お二人は最初にSMCの企業理念や使命、マーケットポジションを説明したあと、SMCがどうしてこのような大きい会社に育ったのかを説明されました。
There were more than 100 students who have interests about japan in the auditorium, they listened the lecture in earnest. Some of them can speak Japanese fluently, they let us guide into University before that lecture. I felt it’s not different from Japanese one, for example, there are library, free space which seem to be talking each other and studying, letters of invitation about business guide or circles on board. On the other hand, the different points are what they have only about 2 months for job hunting and what it’s much smaller than Japanese one in University area.
その講堂には100人以上の学生がいて、真剣に講義を聞いていました。彼らの中には日本語を流暢に話す学生もいて、講義の前に彼らが私たちに学校内を案内してくれました。大学内はそんなに日本の大学と変わらないという印象を受けました。たとえば、図書館があったり、学生同士が語り合ったり勉強するフリースペースがあったり、ボードに就職案内やサークルの案内が張られていたりなど。反対に日本と異なる点としては、その企業の募集が約２か月前に届くことであったり、日本の大学と比べるとやはり敷地面積が狭いことです。
After speech, it started entertainments which they sing Japanese songs and dance Japanese dancing with kimono and so on. I regret not to have seen that to the end, but it become to be good experience because I could grasp japan which from their point of view.
講義のあとには、学生たちが日本の歌を歌ったり、日本舞踊を着物を着て踊ったりなどの催しものが行われました。残念ながら私は最後までいれなかったのですが、香港の学生たちから見た観点の日本が見れたことは大変貴重な経験となりました。
