『幸せになる勇気』の英語版をAudibleで聴きました。

『嫌われる勇気』の続編で、図書館司書から学校教師へ転職した青年が、教室で新たに直面した悩みをアドラー心理学の専門家に打ち明けていく内容です。

特に印象に残ったのは、 Love is not something one "falls" into. という考え方です。

運命の人はいない。誰を愛するかよりも、目の前の人と愛をどう育むか、が大切だと言っていました。

アドラー心理学では、「すべての悩みは対人関係から生まれる」と言われますが、それと同時に「すべての幸せもまた、対人関係から生まれる」とも言っています。

私はこの考え方にとても共感しました。

本の中では、信田さよ子さんが「タフラブ」のなかでも紹介されていたSerenity Prayer（ニーバーの祈り）も出てきました。

God, grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change,

courage to change the things I can,

and wisdom to know the difference.

相手の気持ちを変えたりコントロールすることはできないけれど、傷つくことをおそれずに、みずから一歩勇気を出して、信頼関係を築くことが大切なのかなと思いました。

そういった先に幸せが見えてくるのかも？
