しけんや英語塾のオンラインサロン、金曜日はWriting演習の日です。ちょっとだけ、ご紹介しますね。
今回はAcademic Discussion Writingをやりました。7/26以降の新形式の問題ですね。内容としては、今のIndependent taskが、負担を軽くした形になったという感じで理解しておけばよいと思います。
でgap year（高校卒業して１年自由に過ごしてから大学にいくこと）がいいのか、ダメか、という議論で、

の意見を読んで、自分の意見を100語以上で書く、というタスク、これを取り上げました。
で、わたしが提示したのは、５点満点の「4.0点」の答案例です。

I think taking a gap year is beneficial for students. For starters, during this extra year off, young people have a range of opportunities in the real world, where they can obtain many of the skills and knowledge they should have under their belt before starting a university education. Secondly, students can use the time to prepare for the courses they want to register for the following year. By obtaining the required books, they can learn basic stuff in advance, which will be a big plus. If they miss this opportunity, they will have to do both while attending university. (100 words)
で、質問は
①これが3.5ではなくて4.0だった理由
②これが4.0であって、5.0にならなかった理由
を指摘する、というものです。
