★『休まない』のをやめよう★

優秀なビジネスマンほど、スケジュール帳がまっ白なうちから、

「休み」の予定だけはしっかり組み込まれています。

「休み」をベースに仕事の予定を立てているからこそ、仕事の

効率やパフォーマンスが上がるのです。

現役時代のビルゲイツは、１年の最初に長期休みを必ず決めて

いたそうです。

世界一忙しい（１人である）彼が、1週間山篭りをして、イッサイ

誰とも連絡を取らないという環境をつくるのは、並大抵のこと

ではありません。

冷静な舵取りや新しい発想のために休みを確保する努力は、

実は１番重要な仕事の１つです。

同じ電車に乗って、同じような吊り革広告を眺めているだけでは、

新しい発想はきっと生まれませんよね！

価値ある本に出会うのは、なかなか難しいもの。

私の場合、月に３０冊ぐらいは読みますが、「良い本だったな」

と思うのはせいぜい２、３冊。１割程度です。

新しい知識は、何も最後まで読まないと身に付かないわけ

ではありません。

多くの本を読むためには、取捨選択が重要なのです。

読んでみて、おもしろくない本はどんどん読み飛ばし、

「自分に合わないな」と思ったら、極端な話読むのを止めた方が

マシです。

せっかく買ったのにもったいない、と思うかもしれませんが、

無駄な本を読む時間ほどもったいないことはありません。

石器時代は、石を使い切って無くなったから終わったのではなく、

新しい道具（青銅器や鉄など）が見つかったから終わりました。

「石がもったいない」と、いつまでも使っていたら、新しい

進歩はありませんよね！
