おおたか静流さんの曲が好きで、いろいろと聞いていて、古いオズの魔法使いの中で、ドロシーがりんごの実を摘み取ろうとするとき、流れるBGMにこの曲が流れていたなあ…と思い出す。ずいぶんと古い歌だったんだわ。1905年にヒットしたアメリカのラグタイム曲だった。
原曲の背景が、りんごの木の下にある亡くなった恋人のお墓に花を添え、故人を偲ぶ歌ってのは有名だけど。それを軽やかに明るく歌ってしまうのが、なんだか逆に切ない。
