16日目、任地(Nsawam)で初の停電
ここは5時半ごろから明るくなり、18時頃には暗くなります。日が沈む頃、突然ライトが切れて停電となりました。夜に停電になるとノートPCは使えるけれど、画面を見るには暗いし本当に何もできません。ホームステイ先ではポータブルランプと懐中電灯を使っていました。
必要物品リストにポータブルランプを加えておかなくては。
今日習った現地語は、買い物関連の言葉。エモ ノ イェ アへ？（お米はいくらですか？）エィェ セディ アスン（7セディです。）メパワチャゥ テゥソ？（安くしてくれませんか？）現地の人と同じように買い物できるといいな。

Electricity off in Nsawam
The sun rises about 5:30AM and sets about 6PM here. After the sunset, suddenly the electricity was off. I could nothing to do if the electricity was off at night. My host family uses a portable lamp and a flashlight. I have to add a portable lamp in my list.
Today, I learned phrases related to shopping. For example, "How much a bag of rice?" "It costs 7 cedi"" Please make a discount". I hope I can do shopping like Ghanaian.
17日目、配属先でのこれからの活動内容
活動開始日は8月4日の月曜日。配属先は母子入園する施設と母子分離の施設と大人の切断者の入所施設、外来もあります。2人の有資格者と2人のアシスタントが曜日ごとにローテーションで患者さんを見ているそうです。
2年間暮らす住居は一棟に2世帯が住めるような作りでなんと新築です。配属先まで徒歩3分、ホストファミリー宅まで徒歩1分という近さ。知り合いが近くにい居るので住むには安心な環境です。
近所の子どもが家の入口にあるパパイヤの木に登って実を取ってくれました。獲れたてのパパイヤは程よい甘さでおいしかったー。
夕方、3日前に買った布地をワンピースに仕立屋さんがデザインの写真を持ってきてくれました。いろいろなタイプのガーナ服を着たモデルが写っている見本、カレンダーの表紙を集めたようなものでした。
夜、不意に仕立屋さんが家に来て、採寸してもらうことができました。

My future activities in my workplace
I will start working on August 4th. There are 4 sections in my work place, department for child under 4 years old and their mother, child over 5 years old, adult amputee and out patients.
My accommodation is new house that looks like a two-family house. It takes 3 minutes to my work place and 1 minute to my host family's house on foot. The environment is safe because there are a lot of my co-worker and friends around my accommodation.
In the morning, one of the children who live near my host family's house climbed a tree and took some papayas. I had a flesh papaya. It was very good taste.
In the evening, a tailor brought me some pictures of design. There are a lot of models who wear various kinds of Ghanaian clothes in some sample copies. It looks like first page of calendar. At night, the tailor came to me and took my measurements.

またもや突然、仕立屋さんが来てくれたかと思うとすでに布地がワンピースの形に！すごい仕事の速さです。ホストマザーは「そのワンピースを着て教会に行ったらいいわー」と喜んでいました。
ガーナ人の国民性がまだつかめません。

My dress made in Ghana
Suddenly, a tailor came and gave me a dress. Material had already changed to a one-piece dress in a day. I surprised she made it so fast! Host mother said "Let's go to the church wearing a new dress!!"
I can't guess Ghanaian’s character.
19日目、ガーナのキリスト教
ガーナ人の日常を見てみたかったので、教会に連れて行ってもらいました。
教会に行く前にはみんなシャワーを浴びるそうです。そして子どもも大人もきれいに着飾って出かけていきます。
教会に到着すると大音量の生演奏が行われていました。まるでライブみたいに女性がノリの良い曲にのせて歌っていました。参列者も総立ちでリズムに乗って体を動かしていました。
歌が終わると参列者同士みんなで握手をし合います。その後、グループに分かれて聖書に関するディスカッション、リーダーと思われる人の講和、聖歌、講和、聖歌、音楽に乗せて参列者から教会に寄付、短いお話、再び音楽に乗せて寄付、最後に短いお話があって終了です。
現地語のお話はさっぱり分かりませんでしたが、ガーナのクリスチャンたちの日常を知ることができました。参加者の8割が女性だったのが気になりました。

Church in Ghana
I want to see a lifestyle of Ghanaians, so I let me take to the church by my host mother. They usually take a shower before going to the church. After that they go to church all dressed up.
At the time of arrival, I saw a live performance on full volume. One woman sang a catchy song. People sang and danced to the rhythm. Then, they discussed about the bible, listened to a speech, sang a hymnal, donated, speech, donated and speech.
I couldn't understand local language, but I know the daily life of Christian in Ghana. This is a first experience of attending a mass.
I am concerned about the ratio of man and woman. 80% of all attendants were women.
20日目、プレゼン準備
ホームステイプログラムの終わりに、プログラムのまとめとして現地の人を対象にプレゼンテーションをします。
方法を考えていたところ、ステイ先が営むお店に模造紙の束のようなものが置いてあったので、「これは何？」と聞くと「ウォールペーパー」という返事が返ってきました。
自分で描いた絵を使って発表しようと思います。お店の商品棚からマーカーを出してくれました。優しさに感謝です。

Preparation of presentation
At the end of the program, I will do my presentation for local people as a summary of this program.
When I think the way of presentation, I found a role of paper in a store. I asked to my host mother "What is this?" She said "Wall paper". I will do my presentation, with some pictures that I drew by myself.
She gave me some markers from a show case of the store. I really appreciate for her kindness!
22日目、現地語レッスンpart 2
”ヤー”（ガーナには生まれた曜日によって名前が決まっています。木曜日生まれの女性は"ヤァ”です。）と、外から私を呼ぶ声がしました。
外に出ていくとステイ先の友人が、「自分の友人が現地語を教えてあげる」というので、似たような発音を持つ単語の違いを教えてもらいました。”ナァム”肉も魚も同じ単語。”ノァム”飲む。”ノォム”音楽。ちなみに飲み水と雨も一緒、”ンスォ”といいます。
概念が違うと言葉も違ってくるんだなぁ。

Local language lesson part 2
"Yaa!" Someone call me. In Ghana, it has been a custom to have name each day. My name is "Yaa" because I was born on Thursday.
One of my host family's friend said to me "My friend teach you local language!” Then, I learned difference between some words that are similar to pronounce.
"num" is fish or meat. These words have the same ward! "nom" is drink."nwom" is music. By the way, "water" and "rain" have the same word too!
I thought words are alike because concept is different.
23日目、語学レッスン終了
語学レッスンとプレゼンテーションが今日で終了。この2週間の出来事の絵を4枚描きました。任地の風景、ホストファミリー、現地語レッスン、配属先の様子。人物像を喜んでもらえたようでよかったです。
昨夜、ステイ先のおばあちゃんが体調を崩して入院してしまい、家族と一緒に公立病院にお見舞いに行きました。大部屋は開放空間に仕切るカーテンのないベッドが約１０床、"VIP ward"と表示してある部屋は一応扉のある部屋ですが、４人部屋で仕切りのカーテンはありません。ナースコールもありません。
早く元気になってほしいです。

Conclusion of local language lesson
I finished local language lesson and my presentation. I draw 4 pictures of this home stay program. These picture's titles are Location, host family, local language and my work place. They were gratified by a drawing of people.
Last night, grandmother of my host family went into hospital. Then, I visited her in the government hospital with my host family. A room for several patients is open space, and no partitioning curtain. The room indicated "VIP ward “is a room for 4 persons, this room also has no curtain and no nurse call button.
I hope grandmother get well soon.
24日目、自分の住居
生活するにあたって物品の準備を始めようと住居を見に行きました。改めて住居を見に行くと最低限必要な物品が揃っていました。例えば、机、いす、ベッド、冷蔵庫、ガスコンロ、調理器具一式、食器一式、シーツやタオル類、テレビもありました。こんなに用意して頂けるとは思っていませんでした。一生懸命働かないと！
マーケットでは、パスタやスープの素など、保存できそうな食材を少し購入しました。お米は５㎏でおよそ1000円。足りない物は首都で買い足そうと思います。

My house
I checked my house to prepare some items to live. There is a minimum necessary amount of items. For example, desk, chair, bed, refrigerator, gas range, cooking utensil set, tableware, sheets and towels and TV. I have to work very hard now that they had arranged well-prepared house.
In a market, I bought some food that can keep for long time. For example, pasta, bouillon. Rice is 1,000 yen per 5 kg. I will buy some more in the capital.
