Because of an incident with Izanami and an episode occuring in the nether world, he's good to connect with when a person wants to raise creativity through `birth`. It's recommended to pray at the Shinto shrine where Izanagi resides with one's own father. Your relationship with your father, especially mutual trust, will rise. For your father, good health and long life will be easier to achieve too.
He was born with Izanami at the end of Kamiyonanayo*(seven generations of gods). He and Izanami, though both siblings, are also a couple.
He was ordered by gods of Takama no Hara*(the heavens) to agitate the ocean with Ame no nuboko*(the heavenly jeweled spear) from Ame no Ukihashi*(the Heavenly floating bridge). The stirring of the ocean created Onogoro island, and Izanagi and Izanami were married there.
In Kuniumi*(the birth land of Japan) and Kamiumi*(the birth of gods), he and Izanami procreted and many children were born leading to the formation of the land of Japan.
He is a tender father with maternal instincts. His image is similar to Masuo*(He is a character in the popular Japanese cartoon `Sazae-san`).
