The Godfather of Japanese pops
Kosaka Chu passed away on April 29, a huge loss for Japanese music and for me personally. I grew up listening to Kosaka's music in Japan and had the honor of meeting him and his family on more than a few occasions.
As an adult my brother introduced me to his earlier works, canonical albums in the Japanese music scene, from the heavy blues rock of Apryl Fool to the Hosono backed folk rock of Arigato, to the now globally revered Japanese R&B classic Horo.
After his daughter Ami was miraculous cured from burns, Kosaka Chu became a dedicated Christian, starting the first Japanese gospel music label, and later becoming ordained as a pastor.
He lived a long and full life, touching many with his unique voice, and perhaps just as many with his kindness and warmth. Arigatou Kosaka san!
This mix contains tracks taken from Apryl Fool, Arigatou, Motto Motto, Hazukashisouni, Horo, and Morning. 2 Happy End Tracks that Kosaka Chu covered are included as well.

私の兄が大人になってから以前の作品、日本の音楽シーンにおけるカノニカルアルバムから、エイプリル・フールのヘビーブルースロック、細野晴臣によるフォークロックの名盤「ありがとう」、今や世界的に尊敬されている日本のR&Bクラシック「HORO」までを入手し、私はそれらを何度も聴きました。
彼の愛娘、アミ（ASIAH）が火傷から奇跡的に治った後、小坂 忠は献身的なクリスチャンとなり、日本初のゴスペル音楽レーベルを設立、後に牧師として働いてきました。 彼は、彼のユニークな声で多くの人に触れ、そしておそらく彼の優しさと温かさで同じくらい多くの人に寄り添いながら、長く充実した人生を送ってきたことでしょう。 Arigatou Kosaka Chu san!
