デート出来なかった有名女性（カルフォルニア）

この曲が流行りだしたころの思い出：
英語学校で友達になった年上の男性二人からのお願いで、彼らのガールフレンドが近くのミルズカレッジの量にいて、3対3のデートに行きたいので一緒にサンフランに行こうと誘われました。
お相手はシカゴから来たばかりの女子で3対2よりは3対3でのほうがいいということなので軽い気持ちで引き受けました。
ミルズカレッジに車で迎えに行ってラウンジで30分ほど待ったのですが、僕のお相手がシカゴからついたばかりで疲れが出て寝込んでいるということでデートは無しになりました。
最近になって相手の女性がフジテレビのキャスターだった安藤優子さんだったことを知りました。

留学先で最初にジュークボックスで流した曲（オークランド　カルフォルニア）

英語学校がホリーネイムズカレッジというとこにあって、そこのラウンジにあったジュークボックスで初めて流した曲がIf You Leave Me Now(Chicago)でした。
カレッジには孫正義氏もいたそうですが、残念ながら覚えてません。ただ同時期に故安倍晋三元首相もいました。1回だけゴルフを一緒に行ったかな

このメロディが好きでよくカラオケで歌っていました。

この歌は失恋した寂しさを悲しくない恋愛なんてしてなかったと強がっている歌で
結局比喩的に失恋に凄く傷ついた男性の歌だと私は解釈しています。
