昨日（きの う）、近（ちか）くのスーパーで買（か）い物（もの）して歩（ある）いて帰（かえ）ってるときに思（おも）ったこと・・・ Yesterday, I shopped at a nearby supermarket and it occured to me when I walked back home that:
「きっかけ」って英語で何（なに）よ？ How do you say "きっかけ" in English?
「urge」？ 「trigger」？ でも、これらの語（ご）、使（つか）い方（かた）がよくわからない。 Is it "ァージ"? Or "トゥリガー"? But I wasn't sure how to use these words for what I wanted to say.
「使えもしないのに英単語（えい たん ご）だけ覚（おぼ）えてても意味（い み）ねーな」なんて思いつつ、 Having realized "It is no use just memorizing English words without actually being able to use them", then
寝（ね）る前（まえ）にある辞書（じ しょ）で調（しら）べたら、こうあった。 I looked it up in a dictionary before going to sleep. It says,
せっかく彼女（かの じょ）の名前（な まえ）がわかったのに話（はな）しかけるきっかけがつかめない
I found out her name but I couldn't get an opportunity to talk to her.
彼（かれ）と知（し）り合（あ）うようになったきっかけは何（なん）だっただろうかと考（かんが）えてみた
I tried to recall how I first came to know him.
