"turn on ～" は、
「～に 歯向かう、～に食ってかかる」
という、なかなか 威勢のいい様子を表す英単です。
日進月歩の AI ロボット技術、ごく近い将来 ﾛﾎﾞｯﾄ
が それを作った人に 歯向かう。ということも充分
考えられ、小説や映画でも 扱われています。

1958年のヒッチコック劇場の作品に 既に そういう
お話が 描かれています。
"Design for Loving" という作品です。
ちょっと覗いてみることにいたしましょう。
「近い将来、ロボットが 人間を 単調で退屈な
仕事をから解放してくれるであろうし、いつも
あれやこれやと 小うるさい女房からも 逃げ道
を与えてくれるであろう。
Charles Brailing は 妻 Lydia に うんざりして
いた。
妻と顔を突き合わせているのが嫌で、何もかも
おっぽり出したくなり、南の Rio へと飛んだ。
同じく中年の、ハメを外した仲間と 嫌なことも
分かち合い、Brailing は 悩み事 の 解決策 と
なるものを 買い入れた。
それは、みんなを、愛する妻の Lydia をさえも、
満足させる 人造人間、つまり、Marionettes社製
の 彼自身の分身ともいうべき ロボットだ。」
(In a near future, a robot seeks escape from man's dull
job and his wife's constant demands.
Charles Brailing is tired of his wife, Lydia.
He wants to leave his wife, longs to chuck it all and fly
down to Rio.
Sharing his dilemma with another middle age crazy hubby,
Brailing purchases an answer which should satisfy all
parties, even the lovely Lydia - an android duplicate, a
robot double of himself made by Marionettes, Inc.)
「彼は 買い入れた ロボット を 道具箱 に 入れて
地下室に保管した。
消えてしまいたい時に いつでも 彼の身代わりに
させるためである。
ところが、その ロボットが 彼の妻 と 親密になり
始めたので 彼としては 少々 不安を 抱き始めた。
ロボットは 彼の妻に 愛情を抱き始め、彼に食って
かかり 彼の身代わりを これから ずっと 務め続ける
かのような素振りだ。
で、彼は ロボットを ぶち壊すことに決めた。
ところが、残念なことに、ロボットは 彼を打ち負かし
彼の体を 道具箱に押し込め これから先 ずっと 地下室
に放っておくことにしたのだ。」
(He keeps the robot locked in a tool chest in the basement
so it has to take his place when he wants to get away.
The robot looks just like him.
But Charles begins to become uncomfortable with the
robot growing close to his wife. The robot double develops
feelings for Lydia and turns on Charles, taking his place as
if permanently.
So he tries to destroy it.
Unfortunately the robot gets the better of him and locks
him up permanently in the tool chest in the basement. )
