今日はスピリチュアルな1日でした。
What a spiritual day yesterday! I and Eddie spent precious and priceless day in Kyoto.
まずはちょー早起きして知恩院総本山へ出向き晨朝法要。無宗教の2人ですが朝のお勤めで南無阿弥陀を唱えてきました。
We woke up in early early morning and went to Chioin temple, the headquarter of to pray and work with monks training there. They also prayed for our health too.

エディがアンディ＝フグのお墓が京都にあると教えてくれたので、お寺に訪問。しかし一般には公開してませんでした。エディがとても落ち込んで自分もせっかく来たのに残念だなと思いました。
しかし人生思い立ったら即行動！お寺に問い合わせてお願いしました。アメリカから来た格闘家とトレーナーですと自己紹介。すると主人の方が「それでは翌日また来てください」と許可を頂きました。
Eddie told me that there is a Andy=Hug’s cemetery in Kyoto. I didn’t know that by the way. so we went to the temple where Mr Hug is sleeping. However, the entrance was closed and a guy there told us that they don’t open for public. Eddie looked so sad, and I felt bad for him.
Well, lets show our enthusiasm! I called the temple and introduced myself and Eddie to the guy and ask him for permission. then, the guy said “you guys can come tomorrow” over the phone. Wow! thank you.
翌日、境内に入り墓地まで案内されました。曇りが続いていた京都ですが、この日は奇妙な天気。２人でお参りする時はお日様が出てきて晴れなのに粉雪が舞うという神秘的な瞬間でした。
エディはフグ氏を本当に讃え尊敬してます。異国の地に渡りそこで称号（侍）を得ることがどんなに素晴らしいか。現に自分のようなアメリカ人が海を渡ってでもお墓詣りをしたいと思わせた。「タテキ、お前がやっていることは彼のような意志を受け継ぎ、跡を追っているんだ」と言ってくれました。
Next day, we were guided to the cemetery. It had been dim and cloudy in Kyoto since we got here. However, at the moment we were about to pray in front of his grave, we had sunlight and snowflake at the same time. What a spiritual moment. We considered that Mr Hug welcomed us.
しかし人生思い立ったら即行動！

エディはフグ氏を本当に讃え尊敬してます。

Eddie respect him a lot. Eddie said "how difficult that a fighter visits to a different country and gets recognized and a title is. How many people make foreigners come see them by crossing over the ocean. Andy=Hug made me come here. This is amazing. Tek you are doing the same thing and you are following him” I was so proud to hear his saying.
フグ氏の「私は戦うために生まれてきた」という名言と彼が全うした人生の前ではファイトマネー、名声、興行の規模、戦績など全てが浅はかに感じる。決して彼は日本で侍の称号をもらうために来日したのではなく、異国の地で自分自身の為に頑張り試合をして必死に生きた。
白血病と診断されて4ヶ月後にはこの世から去った。もし自分が「あと数カ月の命です」と医者に宣告されたら格闘家として何ができるだろう？過去に生きるか？将来や不安を打算的に考えながら未来を想像するか？フグ氏の生き様は「今」を生きたから侍の称号と多くの人々が認めた名声があるのだろう。
There is a famous saying by Andy=Hug. "I was born to fight". With that saying, I think fight money, fame, level of promotion, fighting records sound cheap to me. I would say Mr Hug neither came to Japan to get Samurai title nor become famous. He lived in each moment 100%.
He died of leukemia 4month later after he was told by a doctor. If I was told that I will die in a few month, what can I do as a martial artist? Live in past? Get afraid of what happen in future? I think I learned a lot from the life of Andy=Hug.
帰り時に門をくぐる手前の道で突然追い風が吹いた。まるでアンディ=フグが「来てくれてありがとう」と見送ってくれた気がした。きっと昨日お寺の前で門前払いを受けたのも「今日じゃなくて明日来なさい」と言ってたのだろうか？なんか全てにおいて意味があるように感じた。
エディが言ったから御墓参りしたのではなく、まさに2人で2日かけて会う努力をした。前日に断られたのも、お墓参りの時に晴れて雪が降ったのも、帰り際の追い風も全てに意味があって起こった気がする。お会いできて光栄でした。安らかに眠れ。
When we were walking toward a gate, felt strong window on our back and pushed us toward the gate as if Andy=Hug helped us leaving from the temple. We felt like he was saying "thank you guys for coming". I think Mr Hug wanted us to visit him not yesterday before, but today. Probably he said to us "come tomorrow. Not today".
Maybe, spiritual experiences like the day before we couldn't get in the temple and weird weather(sunshine and snow flake) when we pray, and window to push our back when leaving. Everything happened for reasons.

その後は伏見稲荷大社に行きました。
Then we went to Fushimi Inari Taisha, which is the head shrine of Inari(God of Fox). The shrine sits at the base of a mountain.
山の中にあるとは知らず。。。有名な鳥居の道しか知らなかったので、そのまま登山開始！
Since early Japan, Inari was seen as the patron of business, and merchants and manufacturers have traditionally worshipped Inari. Each of the Torii( red gate) Fushimi Inari Taisha is donated by a Japanese business. First and foremost, though, Inari is the god of rice.
エディも鳥居の道に感動！
Eddie loved its path to the top.
頂上まで行きました！稲荷大神さまはお米の神様。日本人なら参拝しないと！山からもパワーもらいました。
色々考えさせられた1日でした。でも普段する事の無い「祈る」こと、特に無宗教の自分にとっては答えがすぐ出ない内容ばかり。でも一日中考えてた事は家族、友人、健康、勝利、それだけです。
人生の大切なことや難しい事の答えはエディと一緒に哲学の道を歩きながら見つけます。今日は朝からスピリチュアルな日 in Kyotoでした。
We made it to the top! Inari is the God of rice. I should pray for it because my coaches and nutritionists will take white rice away from me in US. lol
We got power from nature and the mountain! Since the morning, those experiences made me think about the life. All I thought about was family, friends, health and victory. Eddie said same things. He thought about family, girlfriend, and his friends and fighters.
Through the spiritual day, we can't find correct answers for life, but sure that we are gonna find something important on the path of philosophy in Kyoto.
