Hey everyone, I want to write about tea. My name is Paul and this is my tea blog.
Today, I will talk about Ceylon Tea. Sri Lanka used to grow the world's best coffee, but in the middle of the 19th century, the plants got ill and died. It was a disaster for the island's economy. However, a few brave entrepreneurs tried planting tea and found it a great success. The variety was the assamica type, strong and powerful.
Within a few years, Sir Thomas Lipton had found the island and bought much of the land to plant his famous "Orange Pekoe." It was a great marketing success and made tea affordable for most normal people.
Ceylon tea is refreshing at any time of the day and well worth looking out for. I recommend Dimbula as a great, strong, fresh brew. There are some great estates too--please try them! You can taste them all at our regular Tea parties and Tea Concerts, and you want to come along, please let me know!
