Hey everyone, I want to write about tea. My name is Paul from M&P's Tea and this is my tea blog.
Here's more information about Assam tea. Did you know that Assam was a jungle before they started to cultivate teas? It was very thick and nobody could go through it. So many workers were employed to cut through the jungle.
In fact, many of these people died. There were illnesses and mosquitos, snakes, and tigers. It must have been very tough.
They say that most of the workers died and their families didn't get much compensation.
As a result, Assam was known as a "bitter" tea.
Bitter has two meanings. The first one is a bitter taste. The second meaning is angry, resentful, and unforgiving, because so many people died. It was a very serious problem, back in the nineteenth century.
We should remember those people who gave their lives to help us enjoy Assam tea, and think about how hard it was to bring us this wonderful leaf.
Enjoy your Assam from M&P's Tea everyone!
