The skate America started.
Abbott's SP was fabulous!
Since he always answered any questions very nicely, like A student or something, he seemed to me a conservative skater.
Interview at the World Championships 2012
0:50-1:40
-Is there anybody in particular you pitch yourself against?
Have friendly rivalry to compete.
"I always put myself against myself. I try not to worry too much about the other competitors. I mean it's always difficult because competing for a ranking. But when I compete, I try to do better than what I've done before. I really do my best because I know I can't control scoring and I can't control judging. I try to do what I can for myself so that I can get a high score."
But this program is revealing he has a strong purpose and thought to create a good program

This choreography could be enjoyable only when a skater can maintain a great skating skill.
And he is the one who can do it. It was just stunning

SP-"Spy"(2012-2013 season)
Interview - Abbott on icenetwork.com
-...You always involve a creative process of your programs. Tell me how this all came to fruition.
"Long story. Kaitlyn and Andrew were using this composer for their free dance and Kaitlyn told me to listen to this piece on the web site. I love this and contacted him. And he kind of made the music like fitting around what I needed for the program. It's not one of the kind pieces but it really suits just to me, like this particular piece. And I contacted Banji because I wanted to work with him again. He was really exciting about using spy theme kind like getting sword and sophisticated kind of bad ass. He came to train for 2 weeks and we really played and had a fun. You know kind of start over the top and you have to like cut back and cut back and confined I think we have really a good product. You know I've been saying kind of reading up the whole things for my first step for the Sochi and I took a first step today. I'm really proud of what I did. We completely reworked quad technique. So it hasn't been very consistence. But want to put it in the short and long regardless what happened. On the other side, make sure I do everyting else on my levels and jumps. I did it today."
-It's always amazing you honestly cut back. In this program, because of the details, I don't think people can understand how challenging and exhausting it is to have every single hand movement, choose the music with the timing, undoubtedly working with someone like Banji Mason, really dwell that in.
"When I worked with a dancer for honest choreography, it's always lot more undertake in, really like ridiculously sort out. So every single movement has a purpose and nothing is thrown away. It is exhausting. Actually, this is my second version of the costume. Originally, I had a full of tuxedo. I wanted look like coming a man like Carlos like fighting bad guys. I was passing out. When I tried to the run-through, it was so heavy and so hot. That I was literally almost fainting. We really neede to cut back costume, too. Even now you can see I"m drenched."
