Interview excerpt from Walker Plus on July 2, 2012.
-Can you explain about "THE ICE"?
Kozuka: Normally ice shows are focused on showing each program. But this is the show we need to collaborate. We create the show together. We do practice, have dinner and chats with different types of skaters. We will spend a month. It's a kind of learning process and that would inspire me.
Asada: Yes. That's why we, skaters, can expect a lot from this. The show would be enjoyable and spectacular. Ice shows often take one day. But we go to Nagoya, Osaka, and Nikko in Tochigi prefecture. It's going to be fun like we are having a school trip.
Takahashi: It's a good time to do the show as all of the skaters have been improving their conditions for a new season. You can't miss it!
-What's going to your highlights?
Asada: I will do a new program. Last year I used a slow and melodious music; "I Vow to Thee My Country." This year I'm going to use a very robotic music. I love to do it. And my sister, Mai, is going to choreograph a program for the female skaters.
Kozuka: I made two programs so far. One is jazzy and hopefully it's cool. The other is slow and lovely. For that, I chose it because I loved the lyrics. If people like the song as well as my skating, that would be great.
Takahashi: I'm going to do new SP and EX. We use blues with a feeling of tranquility for the SP. The EX is not ready. But I will ask our choreographer to make an energetic program like holding a festival because I want people in Osaka to love it.
-We talk about Suzuki's new programs.
For my new SP, I want to have a totally different taste from FS. I want to make a strong and wild character for this year. Then they suggested me "Kill bill". I knew the music and the film but I've never thought I would use this music. I hope it turns to be cool.
I have been trying to do a different type of FS every year. When selecting a music, I somehow chose "O".
-The theme would be a bird.
It's difficult. When I selected, I know expressing the music is already a challenging. It might be hard. But I enjoy skating with it as I can feel this music.
