I could see the skater's side through the Chan's response.
Mura needed to show who he was.
Grab a chance at the FS

Fernandez: I just have to wait tomorrow. It's not going to be easy. No it's not going be easy. I have to put hard tomorrow to fight to keep being in the same position. That's it. I'm really happy to be here today.
Chan: I'm really happy where I'm sitting. I'm very fortunate and grateful, I think. I've been able to keep the quality of skating despite the mistakes and it's a really good skate, continues going into the long program tomorrow. Step down on my starting position. I'm really felt I was a man to be here. This program was opening program. I was really confident. Just lack of speed and a quad. Other than that, things I can learn and I can fix for tomorrow.
Oda: I'm very happy to be here. I was little strange? before I was skating. I really focused on my quad. I've done well for the quad. I'm very happy.
-Your quad was good. But it was so close on the board. It was scary. Is it always like this? How did you feel about that?
Oda: My coach always tells me that stay away from the board. So I was trying. I think I did better than the practice in the competition. I didn't crush into the board. I think that's ok.
-You talk bit about program. How different it is from some other programs. Could you tell us a little bit about what you feel is unique. What you bring to the new program.
Chan: The piece is ?. It's a very quiet piece. It's very simple and doesn't have many instruments. It's just sound of piano. There's a lot of quiet moments in the music. I think as you can more mature and more experienced as a skater, that's the challenge to be able to make something beautiful out of nothing. You can make something great out of just silence. More just a note. Those little things were I think separate years as a skater. You have to put some kind of confidence and comfort knowing that during the solo moment you cannot make you awkward and make it comfortable. That's the difference. Not the feeling. What I'm doing a lot of stuffs in the program before the jumps after the jumps. I have to chill my bottoms to my body. You have to be involved with the program. It really feels good to do it.
-Yuzuru Hanyu made a new world record at the Skate America. Especially, Javier have been a training mate, is it an inspiration, and gives you a motivation?
Fernandez: It's great with me. I have to start to learn how he skate. OMG. I did pretty much clean program. He's still 10 points more than me. There's something I have to learn from him! No actually, he's a great skater. He works really hard and I think 95 points, I would really go there, because he deserved that point.
Chan: I thought the result of the points, it was huge. I mean I skated a clean short at the worlds and had a previous world record. I think it's a good sign and I love seeing that. I think what's happening is the judges are using more 1-10 components. It's a message sending out to all the skaters. "Hey if you did jumps, we reward you. We are going to reward you for a good program." I'm really happy. It was shocking at first, but I think later, I really thought about it. It means really thinking the full use of 8 and 9, and even maybe 10. It's a very exciting for me. Going into the season with such a big start like that. It's a good sign.
Oda: I'm very happy with other Japanese teammate. He's very young and a talented skater. I believe he will skate better and better in the future.
A skater who doesn't hesitate to show how she's enjoying skating
