Though I wrote in this blog that each one of the UH students had departed to their new journeys, there are some who are still traveling around Japan individually,  and Karese who played the role of Benten is one of them.

She had been traveling the western part of the country, seeing Bunraku in Osaka, Kabuki at Hakataza, and is going to see Komazo san in “Kabuki Performance for Beginners” in Arakawa today.

Luckily, the hotel she’s staying at in Tokyo is in our vicinity and it seems like she and my family are having fun getting together to eat something you shouldn’t miss if you’re Kabuki lover and drove around the Bay Area.

I talked with her last night while they were chatting at a cafe.

It was so nice being able to talk to her though on screen.

She said, “When I went to “daruma” face painting today, I felt like Monnosuke sensei was right beside me who would often help me standing on my right side while making up.”

Listening to these words, I once again realized my days with them will never be forgotten.

I cherish each moment with each one there.
