It’s going to be the opening day of the production “The Maiden Benten and the Bandits of the White Waves” by the University of Hawaii, Dept.of Theater and Dance at the Gifu Seiryu Za, at last.

I was so excited to reunite with the students after almost a month.

They’re almost like our family.

I wonder how many days I have been with them.

After the rehearsal at the Gifu Seiryu Za, we all went to the Ukai, a “ cormorant fishing”.

It was far more mystical and everything was beyond our imagination.

As the boat navigated by Usho with burning torches, our boat heading close to the boat and  we saw him manipulating the ropes skillfully tided up the 14 cormorants.

Then in the end. 6 boats were down along the river looked very soul-stirring.

Please excuse me, it’s not a nice thing to mention, let me tell you our “small adventure”.

If you want to go to restroom during the cruise, you need to wear rain boots and once go into a river and transfer to the toilet boat.

The students were excited with this little adventure.
