学生たちが浜松屋見世先の場(英語)、稲瀬川勢揃いの場(日本語)を演じ、浜松屋蔵前の場を地元の美濃歌舞伎保存会の方たちが演じられます

At last, “The Maiden Benten and the Bandits of the White Waves”, we have taught the students of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Dept. of Theatre and Dance are going to be performed in Gifu on the 1st and the 2nd of this coming June as a homecoming event of Kabuki.
According to what I heard, both shows are sold out.
I’m sure there must be certain amount of people who had given up on coming to the theaters since they’re in such remote locations.
But… did you know that they’re going to have live streaming service on the 1st at Gifu Seiryu Theater, opening at 2 pm.
Don’t miss it!
However, let me tell you that the program is different from the ones they did at the Kennedy Theater in Honolulu.
While the program there was all done in English of course and performed by the students, the one in Gifu is different.
The first act will be by the students in English, and the third act will be by the students but in Japanese.
The second act will be performed by local people in Gifu in Japanese.
It may be pretty interesting to compare the performances between the ones by UH students and the one by Gifu local people.
