昨日はカウアイ島にあるイマージョンスクールでの中学生、高校生を対象にしたワークショップに行って来ました
ハワイ語で教育を受けている彼らは、授業が始まる前に「オリ」(許可を得る時などに詠われる祈りのようなもの)を唱えてから入室
そして僕らもハワイの文化に敬意を払いつつ、日本の伝統文化、歌舞伎を紹介します
こんな風に文化の交流ができたこと、とても幸せな機会をいただきました

To the island of Kaua’i for two workshops for junior high school and high school students in an immersion school there.
The students educated in Hawaiian language, performed “oli” (a kind of prayers that native Hawaiian people sing in various occasions such as asking permission…) before entering the auditorium.
We accept their “oli” with respect and taught them the very basics of Kabuki.
It was such an honor to be able to interact with young generations of native Hawaiian people.
