昨日はイエッツイー教授の家でキャストパーティー
普段歌舞伎に集中している学生たちもこの時ばかりはリラックスしてとても楽しそう
皆、口々に「本当に丁寧なご指導ありがとうございました」とか「優しく指導していただきとても嬉しかったです」と言いに来てくれて、こちらこそうれしく胸が熱くなる思いでした
思い思いに選んだプレゼントをくれたり、一生懸命日本語で手紙を書いて来てくれたり…
もう今回のプロジェクトではハワイ大学で学生たちに教えるのは終わりだと思うと、実に感慨深く切なくなって来ました
一人一人の成長を間近に感じ、色々な思い出が蘇って来ると、感動で言葉が出て来ません
6月に日本ツアーで来日したら会えるんだけどね
みんな感動を本当にありがとうございました
また会おうね！

Cast party at Dr. Iezzi’s last night.
The students were so relaxed and completely different from the way they are normally,
Each of them came to me and said, “Thank you for your generous coaching.” or “I was so impressed by your teaching.” Just listening to their words made me overwhelmed and couldn’t find a word to express my gratitude.
I know we can see them in Japan in June but still I am going to miss them.
They gave me presents or letters in English or even in Japanese.
I hope we can get together in Japan again.
