今年も残りわずか2日となりました
皆様年末恒例の過ごし方はありますか？
我が家では年賀状書きや12月の芝居のお客様やお世話になった方へのお礼状(これらは妻の仕事です)以外にはこんなことかな
今日はお雑煮と水炊きに使う鶏肉を買いに鶏肉屋さんへ行って来ました
お店にご迷惑がかかるので店名は伏せますが、これが大変な混雑で、大体28日ごろにとりに行きます
また昨日書いたように、ちょうどその頃に早朝から行われる佐渡ケ嶽部屋へ行きお餅つき
美容院でさっぱりと手入れを済ませたら、暮れの食材の買い出し
そして大晦日には妻と僕の家のお墓参り
その後姉が嫁いでいる高麗蔵さんのお家へ行って、姉が作ってくれる美味しいローストビーフとつくねをもらいに行って帰宅
その頃には夕方になり、妻が大慌てでお夕飯の用意
そして日付が変わる直前に年越しそばをいただき、新年を迎えるとすぐに福茶を飲みます
いつも慌ただしい年末です
でもこれらを全て終え、新年を迎えるとある種の「やり遂げた」爽快感もあるけれどね
日本の年の瀬は忙しい😩
と言うことで明日はひょっとしてブログの更新をお休みするかも知れません😅

Is there any particular routine that you do in year end?
Actually, we’re all busy bees in this season.
The hustle and bustle of year ending can be too much to handle.
For example, besides writing new year cards, thank you cards for patrons (these are all my wife’s works) things like going to a poultry shop for preparing seasonal menus where so many people making long lines especially this season, visiting the Sadogatake Stable for mochi pounding early morning, beauty salon, and on the New Year’s Eve, we visit both my family’s and wife’s family’s grave to express our gratitude.
After that we go to Komazo San’s home to pick up yummy roast beef and chicken balls my sister made.
When we come home, it’s already late afternoon.
Then my wife rushes to the kitchen and prepare dinner.
And besides the dinner, just before year ending bells ring, we have soba noodles.
When the108th bells ring, and the new year comes, we drink special lucky tea wishing the good health and happiness.
After finishing all these hustle and bustle, we feel a kind of refreshed feeling that we accomplished all the things we are supposed to do.
Anyway nobody denies year ending in Japan is incredibly busy.
