To soba restaurant Gonbei in Gion with my wife from Tokyo.

She ordered “nabeyaki udon” because it is one of her favorites in winter since her childhood.

They served boiling hot noodles in a pan with simmering broth and when a waiter opened the pot, steam came out of the pan.

My wife used to believe she was a boy and would call herself “ore sama”.

The term is used by boys or men call themselves when they believe they are kind of “great”.

And she ordered “ore sama wants nabeyaki undon!” at a beautiful restaurant in a hotel, sitting on a toddler chair.

(Toddlers sometimes can’t pronounce well the word udon, and they may mispronounce “undon” instead.)

Her parents would tell her that they had been so ashamed of her behavior in such a nice place.

Speaking of today, she seemed to be so happy to have the boiling hot noodles.

As for me, I had oyakodon as usual.

This tastes sooo good.

I finished it instantly.
