昨日は授業の前に大学のインタビュー
歌舞伎の授業から学生たちに何を学んでほしいか、という質問に答えさせていただきました
そして学生たちの進歩もはっきりと表れてきました
皆、休みも返上しお稽古
他の授業の勉強、アルバイトもしながらの大忙しの日々ですが、笑顔を絶やさず歌舞伎を少しでも吸収したいと頑張っています
これは昨日の個別の授業
まずは丁稚役のマギーRにセリフと動きの練習
次は弁天役のカリースに、セリフの細かい解釈について彼女の側からたくさんの質問を受けました
「楽しい!」
「素晴らしい！」
と知れば知るほど、目を輝かせていたのが印象的でした

Asked about what I want the students to learn from Kabuki.
And as for the students, they’re making a remarkable progress working hard everyday till late at night and rehearsals even on holidays, despite their other classes studies and part time jobs.
What are impressive about them are that they are enjoying and absorbing from us as much as possible.

The first one is an individual class for Maggie R performing “Decchi”
The second class was for Karese who is “Benten”.
I mainly got dozens of detailed questions from her about interpretation of her lines.
The more she learned, the more she glowed.
