まだお若い頃には「勲章はいらない」と仰っていましたが、今はきっと天国で受賞を喜んでいらっしゃることと思います
その存在は歌舞伎の世界にあって、革新的で異端とも言われましたが本当に偉大な創造者でありました
青春時代の大切な時期に芝居を教えていただけたことは大変に恵まれていました
お兄さん、ありがとうございました
ご恩に報いることができるよう、これからの人生を歩んでまいります

The government decided to confer Enoo san “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon”.
Though he used to say, “I don’t need decoration!”, I’m sure he must be happy in Heaven to be conferred.
Such a great man blessed with creativity.
However, his passion and innovative works became the focus of criticism.
I was quite lucky to be able to spend my adolescence right beside him and taught so many priceless lessons from him.
Enoo san, let me express my deepest gratitude to you.
I will try to repay your love for the rest of my life, doing my best in performing Kabuki.
