I wrote about a hilarious story about “Umegae Michi” as a souvenir on this blog before but letme write about it again for those who haven’t read it yet.

When my daughter was still a small girl, I promised her to bring “Umegae Mochi” home from Hakata.

I was thinking of buying one at the airport but I underestimated how popular it was.

After trying some souvenir shops, I realized it was not easy to get one.

At last, I found one on the shelf, and when I was almost extending my arm towards it, another arm coming from my side.

It was the one of a middle-aged lady and she was quicker and stronger than I.

She succeeded in getting “Umegae Mochi”.

Then I realized I was in a serious situation.

While my time was running out, I run and run along the gate in search for “Umegae Mochi”, I could finally found one at the last shop before the boarding gate.

I still remember the only one left at the shop looked really shining!

But now that Umegae Mochi was super popular and even a nearby supermarket carries it.

I no longer buy one home.

This time, I bought frozen chicken skin yakitori.

I barbecued them in the grill.

But it’s much better to eat at a counter!
