エリザベス女王がお亡くなりになられました
もちろんお目にかかったこともありませんが、その威厳ある佇まいは、もしお近くに拝したならひれ伏したくなるようなご立派なものでした
在位中計り知れないほどのご苦労もおありだったと思います
しかしながら要所要所で、世論を捉えて存在感を示してこられたようにお見受けします
でも失礼を承知で申し上げるなら、どこかチャーミングで愛嬌がある方でした
特に即位70年の記念式典の際に発表された動画は印象的でした
パディントンとティーを楽しむ女王
サンドウィッチを緊急用に持ち歩いていると言うパディントンに「私もよ、私はここに入れているの」とハンドバッグからサンドウィッチを取り出して見せる女王
その愛らしい表情が強烈に印象に残っています
改めて拝見すると芝居心をお持ちでいらしたことが分かります
亡くなられる直前までしっかりとご公務をなさり、静かに旅立たれたご様子
動画の最後にパディントンが”Thank you for everything.”と言っていますが、イギリス国民ではなくても同じ気持ちです

Queen Elizabeth II has passed away.
She was such an amazing queen with great dignity which makes me feel like prostrating myself before her, if I see her.
She was a woman of strong will.
Her dignified existence has always been the symbol of England against all odds.
But at the same time we’ve been attracted to her charming personality, if I may say.
Many of you probably remember the humorous scenes with Paddington on her Platinum Jubilee.
Upon the words of Paddington, “I always keep one (marmalade sandwich) for emergency.”, she replied, “So do I. I keep mine in here.” and took one from her handbag.
I was quite impressed with her pretty smile.
As I watch over the video, she is quite a show woman.
According to the news, she has served to the nation until two days before her death with utmost grace and dignity.
I feel the same as Paddington at the end of the video, “Thank you…for everything.”, though I’m not British.
May she Rest In Peace!
