Eventually Kaiser kept sleeping and I had nothing to do except going to a nearby supermarket with my wife in the afternoon.

There, I found “Umegae Michi”, a popular Japanese sweets from Dazaifu, Hakata.

I remember trying to buy one for my daughter when she was still kid.

She asked me to get one for her as a souvenir from Hakata.

It’s such a simple and easy wish since Umegae Mochi is something extremely “common” in a sense and you can find it everywhere in the city of Hakata and at the airport.

I just don’t know why but they were all sold out in souvenir shops at the airport.

I tried every single shop there before going to the boarding gate.

But I had been thinking I could buy one somewhere at a shop on the boarding gate.

Surprisingly, none of the shops had one, not a single Umegae Mochi.

Unbelievable!

But at last, I could find ONE in the very end of the gate!

YES!

I made it!

The very last one in this lack has been waiting for me!

Rather impressed, I was almost reach the last one when the old lady beside me grabbed it and took it to the cashier.

NO WAY!

That’s mine!

This is so stupid.

I went home without Umegae Mochi.

As I saw one at a supermarket today, I couldn’t help smiling of the memory.
