As I wrote in this blog 2 years ago, we won the tickets for men’s volleyball semifinal final of TOKYO 2020.

Though tickets for Olympic Games are highly competitive and we don’t have much luck with lotteries usually, we decided to give it a try just because we thought it’s worthwhile to be part of the games as “neighbors”.

Then we made it!

We won the tickets!

Were it not for COVID -19, we could have simply enjoyed the Olympics.

Here is the tickets we downloaded…

Phantom Olympic Games tickets…

Our dream and luck turned out to be these papers.

Come to think of it, it was 2011 this whole thing has started when the former Governor Ishihara declared Tokyo was going to invite Olympics.

We were surprised to hear the vacant lands owned by Tokyo Metropolitan government surrounded our apartment was going to be the venue of Olympic village.

WHAT!

Didn’t you say they were not going to build high buildings around this area, Mr.Realtor?

But then the situation changed again and again and they ended up changing the venue to Harumi and constructed Ariake Arena at the vacant land right next to our apartment, instead.

10 years have passed since Mr. Ishihara’s declaration.

It’s quite surprising so many problems occurred and we had been swayed by them often as residents living “in” the Olympic venue.

But in any case, it’s over and what left for us are sheets of these papers.

We haven’t received refund yet, though. Hahaha
