Heard a cry from my wife looking into the fridge.

Holding a cucumber apologetically, she said that she had cut off 1/6 of the cucumber to use on this opening day of “obon” by mistake.

Obon is considered to be the special four days in Japan that ancestors comeback to this world from the other world.

They used cucumber horse to come back from the other world as soon as possible and eggplant ox to return to the other world as slow as possible.

Today is the opening day and we need to decoratethe altar with cucumber horse and eggplant ox.

But our horse doesn’t have a head.

She hurried to a supermarket to get one and cameback with beautiful cucumber.

Thus, the cucumber horse and eggplant ox are ready to serve our ancestors to come back.
