例年7月のこの時期に行われていた祇園祭の山鉾巡行
残念ながら新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大を予防して山鉾巡行は中止になってしまいました
でも有り難いことに京都の茶道、久田家半床庵様がその祇園祭の長刀鉾のちまきを送ってくださいました
疫病除け、厄除けのため早速玄関に吊るそう

Goon festival, one of the biggest festival in Japan takes place entire month of July in Kyoto.
Received “Chimaki” of “Naginata Hoko” in the Gion Festival from Kyoto Hanshoan.
Be careful!
It’s called “chimaki” (rice dumpling wrapped with bamboo leaves) , but it’s not edible.
Lamentably, they had to cancell the procession of “Yamahoko” to prevent further spread of the COVID-19.
It’s such an ironic decision to cancel the festival which is originally supposed to ward off pestilence and evil.
Thankfully, Mrs. Hisada of Hanshoan in Kyoto sent me the Chimaki to place under the eaves.
