娘は小さい頃からこの塩にぎりが大好き
話は変わりますが最近すっかり見かけなくなった蝋石
もはや見かけなくなった蝋石を駄菓子屋で見かけ、幼い娘にうれしくなって
買ってあげました
買ってあげましたある時来客があり、玄関の扉を開けてみたら…
「きょうのごはんは しおむすび」
デカデカと蝋石で書かれた幼い文字が目に飛び込んで来ました
虐待され食べるものも満足に食べさせてもらえない子ども
が誰かに窮状を訴えていると勘違いされたらどうしようかと、慌てて靴底で擦ったのも懐かしい思い出

Rice balls “omusubi” are something special for us Japanese, not to mention fancy dishes.
Among all, “sio musubi”, simple rice balls without anything inside is a fabulous Japanese flavor with fluffy cooked rice and coarse salt.
This is my daughter’s favorite.
By the way, we hardly find pagodites that we used to use to scribble on road surface.
We happened to find one at a mom-and-pop candy store and bought one for my daughter nearly two decades ago, explaining how to use it.
One day, when I opened the entrance door of my house, I saw a series of puerile characters in pegodite saying “today’s lunch is sio musubi” written right in front of my house.
Quite embarrassed and feared that neighbors misunderstand we were abusing our daughter who was appealing for help, I tried to rub them with my shoe sole.
Whenever I eat sio Musubi, we talk about the hilarious story.
