東大、京大、阪大、名大などの旧帝に合格できる受験生はごく一握りの少数派だ。そういう受験生は自分の目で見て、自分の頭で判断する。多くの生徒が使うだけの理由では、その問題集を信用したりしない。自分の目で見て自分で考える。
地元で一番の県立高校は四日市高校だ。その上位１割くらいの子がよく塾に来てくれる。その子たちは学校の教師が指定する参考書や問題集を信用しない。その教師自体を信用することも少ない。
もちろん、私も簡単に信用してもらえない。私は塾を始める前はその事実を知らなかった。だから、
「アメリカ帰りの名古屋大卒なら大丈夫だろう」
と軽く考えていた。
ところが、彼らは厳しいから英検１級に合格して見せたり、京大を受けて８割超であることを示したりしなければならなくなったのだ。
Only a small minority of examinees are able to pass the entrance examinations to the old imperial universities such as Tokyo University, Kyoto University, Osaka University, and Nagoya University. Such students see with their own eyes and judge with their own minds. They do not trust a question booklet just because many students use it. They see with their own eyes and think for themselves.
The best local prefectural high school is Yokkaichi High School. About 10% of its top students often come to the cram school. They do not trust the reference books and problem books that their teachers assign them. They rarely trust the teachers themselves.
Of course, they do not trust me easily either. I did not know this fact before I started cram school. So.
I thought, "A Nagoya University graduate returning from the U.S. will be fine.
I thought lightly.
However, they were so demanding that I had to show them that I had passed Eiken Level 1 or that I had taken the Kyoto University entrance exam and scored over 80%.
