「戦は時の運」と言う。受験も同じで運の左右しない受験はありえない。つまり、連戦連勝とはいかないのだ。私は英検１級、通訳ガイドの国家試験、国連英検A級、ビジネス英検A級、観光英検１級、京大を７回受験など平均的日本人より多くの試験を受けてきた。その結果、３９通の合格・不合格通知が手元に残った。
試験は落ちたまま嘆いているだけでは「失敗」になる。そこから再受験なり、教訓を得て方向転換するなら、とにかく前に進めば失敗にはならない。そのチャレンジから学んだだけだ。
この原則は４０００年前のアジプトでも、現代日本でも永遠の真理なのだ。

Simply lamenting over an exam while failing it is a "failure. If you retake the exam from there, or learn a lesson and change direction, it is not a failure if you move forward anyway. You just learned from that challenge.
