自分で書いた抽象的な詩を視覚的な作品にしてみました。前回紹介させて頂いた「燃えてるぜ」（英語名：「Workin it.」）を作成したあと、その作品と同じような工程を利用してコンピュータグラフィックとして仕上げました。
With this piece, I tried turning an abstract poem I wrote into a visual piece. After I finished making the piece I introduced last time, "Workin it.", I used a similar process to create this computer graphics work.
本作品の光の効果が好きで、「燃えてるぜ」よりいいものになったと思います。そして、プリンターで印刷するより、パソコンの画面の方がその揺らめく光をうまく引き出してくれると思いますので、この作品はコンピュータグラフィックの本質、コンピュータで作成する意味がより表現できていると思います。
I really like the effect of light in this piece, and I think it turned out even better than "Workin it." Also, I think the computer screen conveys the play of light better than a printed version would, so I feel this piece better expresses the essence of computer graphics... it exemplifies the reasons for creating art on the computer better.
日本画を大学の研究生として習っていたころ、ある客員教授に言われたことばを思い出します。「絵を描くための道具や絵具を選ぶ時、その本質、そして自分にとっての利用する理由や意味について考えなさい」と。今回の作品の制作通してそのことばの意味がすこし分かるようになったと感じます。
That brings to mind something I was told by a visiting professor when I was learning how to paint nihonga (Japanese painting) as a research student at a university. She said, "When you choose your tools and paints to make a painting, think about the nature of those tools and paints, and the reasons and meaning for you behind using them." And I feel that working on this piece has helped me understand the meaning of her words a little more.
