【ワシントン共同】米下院の中国共産党に関する特別委員会は24日、台湾海峡の平和と安定を維持に関する政策提言書を公表した。軍事専門家の意見や台湾有事のシミュレーション結果を踏まえて、中国軍の攻撃に備えて日本や米領グアムにある米軍基地の強化が必要だと指摘した。インド太平洋地域への長距離ミサイルや無人機の配備増強も不可欠だと訴えた。
1月の特別委設置後、提言書をまとめたのは初めてで、少数民族ウイグル族へのジェノサイド（大量虐殺）に関する政策提言書も公表した。公聴会で聴取した専門家らの証言を基に「中国共産党による凶行は続いている」と強調し、関係者への制裁強化を求めた。
