The walk with penguins #2. ペンギンさんとお散歩♪ #2

This is a continuation of articles of yesterday.
これは、昨日の記事の続きです。

"Gao" who is Bengal tiger was upset.
ベンガルトラの「臥桜(ガオ)」君は、焦りまくってたです。

That's because, Tochan and Kachan the Humboldt penguins got by front of his area.
フンボルトペンギンのトォちゃんと、カァちゃんが、彼の放飼場の前を通ったからです。

Penguins seemed not to care in the least.
ペンギンさん達は、意に介さなかったです。

But suddenly, they stopped their step.
でも、突然、彼らは、歩みを止めたです。

I wondered and looked at their gaze direction.
不思議に思って、彼らの視線の先を見てみたです。

What I saw in their gaze direction...
あたしが、彼らの視線の先に見たものは。。。

It was "Elisabeth" the "Japanese red fox".
ホンドギツネの「エリザベス」さんだったです。

Maybe foxes are scary more than tigers, for them.
彼らにとって、キツネさんは、トラさんよりも怖いのかもしれないですね。

By the way, she is Mio.
ところで、彼女は「未桜(みお)」ちゃんです。

Gao and Mio are twins.
臥桜君と、未桜ちゃんは、双子です。

They were excluded from the plan of breeding, for sad reason.
彼らは、哀しい事情で、繁殖計画から除外されたです。

But, I'll tell you about it some other time.
でも、その話は、また今度。

The walk with Penguins. ペンギンさんとお散歩♪

They are Humboldt Penguins in "Suzaka Zoological Gardens" in Nagano.
彼らは、長野の「須坂市動物園」のフンボルトペンギンさん達です。

Their names are "Tochan" and "Kachan" which means "dad" and "mom".
彼らのお名前は「トォちゃん」と「カァちゃん」です。

They are from "Itozu-no-mori Zoological Park", and they aren't bottle feeding penguins.
彼らは、「到津の森公園」出身で、人工哺乳じゃないです。

But they are very amiable towards humans.
でも、彼らは、とても人懐っこいです。

In winter period, "Petting walk with Humboldt Penguins" is held in this zoo, every year.
冬の期間に、ここでは、毎年、「フンボルトペンギンのふれあいウォーク」がやられるです。

It began from 14th of this month, this year too.
今年も、今月の14日から始まったです。

There is a Bengal tigers' area on their way.
お散歩道の途中に、ベンガルトラの放飼場があるです。

Tochan and Kachan didn't mind, but tigers appeared very confused.
トォちゃんとカァちゃんは、平気だったですけど、トラさん達は混乱してるみたく見えたです。

After walking, a zookeeper let us touch Tochan and Kachan.
お散歩の後、飼育員さんは、トォちゃんとカァちゃんに触らせてくれたです。

Their body are covered with a lot of small feathers which is smooth, and their flippers are hard.
彼らの体は小さなすべすべした沢山の羽で覆われていて、フリッパーは固かったです。

The zookeeper said, it is painful to get hit with their flippers.
飼育員さんは、彼らのフリッパーでぶたれると痛いって言ってたです。

Their weight is about 5kg which is the same one as house cats.
彼らの体重は、約5kgで、家猫さん達と同じくらいの重さです。

They were very cute, so I shivered.
彼らがとっても可愛かったから、嬉しくて震えちゃったです。

What he was staring at...　彼が見つめていたものは…。

He was "Ryu" in "Tobu zoo" who was the oldest White tiger in Japan, passed away on the 11th of this month..
彼は、今月の11日に儚くなった、東武動物公園の日本最高齢のホワイトタイガーの「リュウ」君です。

They are “Rocky” and “Maple”, and are twins.
そして、彼らは、双子の「ロッキー」君と「メープル」ちゃんです。

They came to Tobu zoo from Canada few years ago.
彼らは、数年前に、カナダから東武動物公園に来たです。

There is their area next to Ryu's one.
彼らの放飼場は、リュウちゃんの隣です。

Ryu was resting in his area.
リュウちゃんは、自分の放飼場で休んでいたです。

But, it seems he found something.
でも、彼は、何かに気付いたようです。

Suddenly, he stood up and walked towards next to his area.
突然、立ち上がると、彼の隣の放飼場に向かって歩き始めたです。
