This time, disaster drill was executed based on a scenario which is the presumption that when an earthquake came, the rhino escaped from his cage. 今回、避難訓練は、地震の為にケージが壊れて、サイが逃げ出したっていうシナリオに基づいて行われたです。
We joined that. あたしたちも、それに参加したです。
We escaped from the rhino according to the instructions of the guards. あたしたちは、ガードマンさん達の指示に従って、サイから逃げたです。
I had fun a lot. すっごく面白かったです。
A lot of press members came there. たくさんの報道陣が来てたです。
Reuters, too. ロイターもです。
The same person from Reuters came to Tama zoological park’s drill of last year. 去年の多摩動物公園の避難訓練に来てたロイターのリポーターと同じ人が来てたです。
Reuters reporter asked me for an interview of the disaster drill of the zoos, last year. 昨年、ロイターのリポーターは、あたしにインタビューしようとしたです。
But, I said "I don't want to go on the screen”. でも、あたしは「テレビに映りたくない」って言ったです。
The reporter said "It's okay, broadcast is only the other countries". リポーターは、「海外でしか放送しないから、ダイジョブデェ～ス」って言ったです。
I said "That's not what I mean. I don't hope my soul will be removed." あたしは、「そーいう意味じゃなくて、あたしは、魂を抜かれたくない」って言ったです。
The reporter said, "Oh, I see." リポーターは「ああ、わかりました」って言ったです。
But, I thought that he absolutely not understand my point. でも、あたしは、彼は、絶対に、あたしの言ってることを理解してないなぁって思ったです。
She lives in “Higashiyama zoo” in Nagoya with her partner named "Asuka". 彼女は、相棒の「アスカ」と一緒に、名古屋の「東山動物園」に住んでるです。
When their names are put together, it becomes “Chage & Asuka”. ふたりの名前を合わせると、「チャゲ＆アスカ」になるです。
This is the name of a famous Japanese band whose name are “Chage and Asuka”. 「チャゲ＆アスカ」ってお名前の、日本の有名なバンドがあるです。
I guess that maybe "Chage and Asuka" of the Jaguars were named after “Chage & Asuka” of the band. あたしは、ジャガーの「チャゲ＆アスカ」は、バンドの「チャゲ＆アスカ」にちなんで名づけられたんじゃないかと思うです。
I visited Higashiyama zoo, last summer. 去年の夏、東山動物園に行ったです。
That time, I first met Chage and Asuka. その時に、あたしは、初めて、チャゲとアスカに会ったです。
I found a sign board on their cage. あたしは、彼らのケージで説明書きを見つけたです。
It said the following. それには、以下の事が書かれてたです。
We are not good at scratching our claws. 僕らは、爪をとぐのが苦手です。
So, we got a shot of anesthesia by a vet, and our claws were cut. だから、獣医さんに麻酔を打ってもらって、爪を切ってもらったです。
We hate injections, so we want to try to be good at scratching out claws. 僕らは、注射が大嫌いだから、爪とぎが上手になるように頑張りたいです。
Such funny Jaguars!! なんて面白い子達なんでしょ^^
They are feline animals. 彼らは、猫科動物です。
I’ve never heard of a feline who is not good at scratching. あたしは、爪とぎが苦手な猫なんて、今まで聞いたことないです。
I was laughing in front of their area for a while あたしは、彼らの放飼場の前で暫く笑ってたです。
And I came to like them very much. そして、あたしは、彼らを大好きになったです。
Chage and Asuka are so beautiful, so cute, and so mischievous. チャゲ＆アスカは、とっても美しくて、とっても可愛くて、そして、とってもお茶目です。
But we became unable to see them anymore from today. でも、もう、あたしたちは、彼らに会えなくなったです。
Now, Higashiyama zoo is going ahead with the “Evolution plan”, to build a better environment for the animals and visitors. 今、東山動物園では、動物さん達と、来園者の為のより良い環境を作る為の「再生プラン」がやられてるです。
But some animals were sacrificed for that evolution. でも、そのために、いくつかの動物さん達が、犠牲になるです。
The areas for Jaguars, Puma, Persian leopards, and Snow leopards will be demolished for making the "Asian zone". ジャガー、ピューマ、ペルシャヒョウ、それから、ユキヒョウの放飼場が、「アジアゾーン」を作るために壊されるです。
The Puma moved to “Oomoriyama zoo” in Akita, and the Snow leopards were moved to a narrow area of a part of small animals’ area in Higashiyama zoo. ピューマさんは、秋田の「大森山動物園」に移動になり、ユキヒョウは、東山動物園内の、小動物エリアの一角の、狭い場所に移動されたです。

Snow leopards are so energetic animals by nature, and they run and jump. ユキヒョウさんは、生来、とても活発な動物で、跳んだり跳ねたりするです。
But their new area is a very narrow cage, so they can’t jump or run around. でも、新しい場所は、すごく狭くて、跳ぶことも、跳ねることもできないです。
And a zookeeper said that the size of Snow leopards' bedroom is 1/4 of the current room. さらに、ユキヒョウさんの寝室は、今までの1/4の広さだって、飼育員さんが言ってたです。

It is said that the number of Persian leopards is estimated to be 500 or less, now. ペルシャヒョウは、現在500頭以下しかいないって言われてるです。
The zoos in the world are trying hard to breed them. 世界中の動物園が、彼らの繁殖に力を入れてるです。
“Shiratsu” and “Ouga” the Persian leopards are precious animals. ペルシャヒョウの「シラツ」と「オウガ」は希少動物です。

I think they should be given the gazes of more people to protect their future. 彼らの未来を守るために、彼らは、より多くの人の目に触れるべきだと思うです。
Now, in an official announcement, the zoos which have Persian leopards are only Higashiyama and Kushiro, in Japan. 現在、公式発表されている中では、日本でペルシャヒョウのいる動物園は、東山と釧路だけです。
But Ouga and Shiratsu lost their area to the plan, so they were shut up into the back yard. でも、再生プランの為に、オウガとシラツは、彼らの場所を失ったので、バックヤードに閉じ込められたです。
Cute mischievous Chage and Asuka, too. 可愛くて、おちゃめな、チャゲとアスカもです。
We became unable to see them anymore. 我々は、もう、彼らに会えなくなったです。
They probably think, "why we can't go outside?", I feel pain when I think about that. おそらく、彼らは「どうして、僕らは、お外に出してもらえないの?」って思ってるんじゃないかって、考えると痛みを感じるです。
There are no plans to return them back to the front stage, presently. 現在、彼らを表舞台に戻す計画は、ありません。
But, I'll never abandon hope. だけど、あたしは、あきらめないです。
I continually ask "I want to see them" to Higashiyama. あたしは、「彼らに会いたい」って訴え続けるです。
And I want more people to know about them. そして、あたしは、より多くの人に、彼らのことを知ってもらいたいです。
Each of our voices might be little, but when our voices are put together, they become a big voice. あたしたちの個々の声は小さいかもしれないですけど、みんなの声が集まるとき、それは、大きな声になるです。
And someday, I think it might become powerful enough to help them. そして、いつか彼らを助ける力になれるかもしれないと思うです。
I seemed that chage was wailing. チャゲの慟哭のように思えたです。
But please don't get me wrong. でも、どうか、誤解しないでくださいです。
I don't want to accuse Higashiyama zoo. あたしは、東山動物園を糾弾したいわけじゃないです。
I think Higashiyama zoo is a fabulous zoo. あたしは、東山動物園は、ステキな動物園だと思ってるです。
Because, every animal in Higashiyama is so cute. 東山の子達は、どの子も、とても可愛いからです。
When their names are called, they turn around. お名前が呼ばれたとき、彼らは振り向くです。
I think that's because they are given a lots of love from zookeepers. それは、彼らが、飼育員さん達から、うんと可愛がられてるからだと思うです。
