マンダリン オリエンタル 東京は、マンダリン オリエンタル日本初のホテルとして、2005年12月に東京の歴史的・文化的中心である日本橋地区に開業しました。 世界各地のマンダリン オリエンタルは、グループの理念・アイデンティティの象徴として扇をそれぞれのオリジナルのトレードマークとしています。
ホテルは 日本橋三井タワー（地上39階＋地下4階）に入っており、ホテル部分はその上層部、30～36階に客室を配置されています。客室数は178～179室程度。
デザインコンセプトは「木（Woods）と水（Water）」をテーマにし、「大きな生きている木」、その枝が客室であるという発想で客室は天井から床までのガラス窓などを用い、東京の街並みや富士山などのビューを重視した設計になっています。
客室は多くが50㎡以上とゆとりがあり、日本のファブリックや工芸を取り入れた和の要素をモダンに表現してあります。
ベッドスペースと洗面スペースはガラスで区切られており、空間の広がりを出しています。木のガラリを間に設置し、視線を遮る事も出来ます。
ドライヤーバックはファスナー付きで高級感があります。
Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, opened in December 2005 in the Nihonbashi district, the historical and cultural heart of Tokyo, as Mandarin Oriental's first hotel in Japan. Each Mandarin Oriental hotel around the world uses a fan as its trademark, symbolizing the group's philosophy and identity.
The hotel is located in the Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower (39 floors above ground and 4 floors below ground), with guest rooms located on the upper floors, from floors 30 to 36. There are approximately 178 to 179 guest rooms.
The design concept is based on the theme of "woods and water," with the idea being that the guest rooms are a "large, living tree" and its branches. The guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows, emphasizing views of the Tokyo cityscape and Mount Fuji.
Many of the guest rooms are spacious, measuring over 50 square meters, and feature a modern Japanese design incorporating Japanese fabrics and crafts.
The bed space and washroom area are separated by glass, creating a sense of spaciousness. A wooden louver can be installed between them to block views.
The hair dryer bag has a zipper for a luxurious feel.
