ザ・グレートウォール
中国、万里の長城の脇に建つヴィラ群「コミューン バイ ザ・グレートウォール」。傾斜のある敷地を造成せず、うねる斜面の上にそのまま建築を建て自然に溶け込んだ風景を有しています。
隈研吾氏ら著名な日本人建築家3名を含む12名のアジア人建築家によって設計された現代建築コレクションのような建物群は、2002年のベネチア・ビエンナーレで特別賞を受賞し、また2005年にはビジネスウィーク誌で「中国の新しい建築による驚異（New Architectural Wonder of China）」とも評されました。
モダンなガラス貼りの窓が特徴の建築のロビー廻りは吹き抜けを有し、現代アート赤と白の彫刻が目を引きます。
The Commune by the Great Wall is a group of villas built beside the Great Wall of China. The sloping site was not developed, and the architecture was built directly on the undulating slope, with the landscape blending in with nature.
Designed by 12 Asian architects, including three renowned Japanese architects such as Kengo Kuma, the buildings are a collection of contemporary architecture that won a special prize at the Venice Biennale in 2002 and was named "New Architectural Wonder of China" by BusinessWeek in 2005.
The lobby, featuring modern glass windows and an open-air atrium, is home to eye-catching red and white contemporary art sculptures.
