【アマン京都】
フォレストガーデン

アマン京都は以前の持ち主である西陣織物の浅野家が三代に渡り維持していた庭で西陣織の美術館を作る予定だったそうです。 

緩やかに迂曲する苔生した石畳、その上に生茂る山紅葉の樹々のさざめき、山から湧き出る小川のせせらぎや鳥のさえずりなど、市の中心部の喧騒から離れた静謐な庭は別世界です。

こちらの敷地は２０年以上前にアマンオーナーとデザイナーケリーヒルが京都のこの地を訪れ、ホテルにと選んだ場所です。 

ケリーヒルは2018年に亡くなりましたが、アマン京都は2019年11月にオープンしました。 

２０年前にはホテルは建てることも出来なかった土地ですが、
長い年月を経て世の中が変わりホテルオープンに至りました。

Aman Kyoto was to be a museum of Nishijin textiles in a garden that had been maintained for three generations by the previous owner, the Asano family, a Nishijin textile manufacturer. 

The gently curving mossy stone pavement, the rustling of the mountain foliage trees growing on it, and the murmur of the stream bubbling up from the mountain and the chirping of birds, the tranquil garden away from the bustle of the city center is otherworldly.

This property was chosen by Aman owners and designer Kelly Hill for the hotel more than 20 years ago when they visited this part of Kyoto. 

Kelly Hill passed away in 2018, and Aman Kyoto opened in November 2019. 

Twenty years ago, a hotel could not have been built on this land, but over the years, the world has changed and a hotel was opened.
