どうも。

気が付いたら11月も最終週ですね。

海外ドラマの字幕版や映画、洋楽などでリスニングの練習(というか単にそういうものを楽しみながら内容を聞き取ろうとしているだけなんですが)をしていると、ごくたまにツボにはまるというか、スパッとその内容が聞き取れることがあります。

「やった!リスニングの大進歩だ!」と昔は喜んだものですが、そんなうぬぼれは長くて数日、短ければ数時間で打ち砕かれてしまいます。

先日も海外ドラマの「スーツ SUITS」のテーマソングを聞こうと試みて見事に玉砕しました。実際yutubeで歌詞を見ながらきいてもついてゆけません。

精進あるのみですね。

Hello, everyone. I'm Deirdre Ikeda. Students at a junior high school are taking a nap to prepare for afternoon classes. Yasu junior high school in Fukuoka prefecture launched the activity in April at the start of Japanese school year. The school decided to establish the nap time after more than 30% of students wrote in a questionnaire that they didn't get enough sleep. All teachers and students and the officials now take a nap for 10 minutes with the curtains closed and classical music playing after the Monday and Wednesday lunch breaks. A third-year student who sleeps only 6 hours the night said his mind is clear now thanks to taking a nap. Principal Seiji Yamaguchi said the school is aiming to increase the students' academic ability this way.

Hello, everyone. I'm Walter Roberts. Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata has returned to the earth after six-month in space on board international space station ISS. The Russian Soyuz space craft carrying Wakata, a Russian cosmonaut and a US astronaut landed in central Kazakhstan. Japanese astronaut Akihiko Hoshide was on hand to greet Wakata. Hoshide worked on the ISS in 2012. Speaking to reporters after physical exam, Wakata said his six-month ISS mission that began in November 13 has led him to believe that the earth is an irreplaceable home. Wakata, who is service commander the last 2 months of his mission said he’d been able to fulfil his duties thanks to wonderful international teamwork.
