How is your work environment?
Everything is good. We are assigned certain numbers of rooms and we work individually. So, when I work, I work alone. And since it has been only few days that I worked, I am still adjusting myself to this job. Like all housekeeping job, it is tough. However, my hand is getting used to it little by little.
How are you getting along with your work mates?
Well, since one person are assigned to one room, I don’t have many chances to see other workmates. However, I can able to practice my English when I meet my supervisor and staffs during the break time. They are very nice. Everyone is being very nice and friendly to me. My supervisor, she is also very kind. Sometimes she is little strict. But I guess that is what all supervisors are like. But she is mostly generous.
Did you make any friends?
Yes. My current roommate is Korean girl. So, we are becoming good friend. Also, during the lunch time, I am sitting with three Japanese girls. We don’t get to see each other that often but they are nice girls and I like hanging out with them.
How do you handle your meal?
Duty meals are provided by the hotel but when I don’t work, I cook by myself. Duty meals from hotel taste okay, but they are not the same food you would expect from 5 stars’ hotels since it’s for the employees
What do you expect from yourself from this internship?
I will try to make as many friends as possible from different countries. I really like working at hotel. Even though it is hard, working here it quite decent. Hopefully, work will be easier later and it would be more fun working here.

Firstly, I worried about to living and working in the mountain. But it was okay to live there. About 60 employees were working there. There are quite multi-cultural staff and customers. I could use English a lot at the resort.
My position was Kitchen steward and worked for 2 months, and I discussed with my manager about the position change. Because, I really wanted to do F&B position. The manager changed my position and I worked as F&B attendant for 4 months.
It was really precious time for me. And I am totally satisfied.
Now I am waiting for my second working holiday visa. And I am dreaming to work at Ayers Rock Resort for my next career.
I contacted my agency (Psynergy) for discussing about it.
