High on a mountain in Brazil, a treasure in yellow awaits discovery.

On the Samambaia Farm in Sul de Minas, Brazil, fourth-generation coffee farmers tend to a rare varietal of heirloom Bourbon coffee cherries. Instead of the expected red skins surrounding most coffee cherries, these flaunt a vibrant yellow hue.

Occasionally, one of these unique cherries holds a peaberry, a single, rounded bean found in fewer than 10% of all coffee cherries.

It’s a meticulous hunt that leads to an exceptional coffee. Rich and smooth with soft acidity and sweet notes of soft brown sugar, almond paste and a hint of red currant, this is a distinguished cup celebrating the joy in nature’s anomalies.

A coffee discovery worthy of legend.

The Cauca highlands of Colombia were settled by Spanish conquistadors searching for El Dorado, the fabled City of Gold. While these explorers did not find what they were looking for, the area is no less rich for the treasures it does have ─ starting with this coffee.

Soaked by annual rainfall of 80 inches or more and blossoming in the cool climate of the northern Andes, this coffee benefits from a longer harvest season, which creates a richer, more intense flavor of sweet walnut and delicate cocoa notes, accompanied by high herbal aromas. Furthermore, Supremo beans make up less than 10% of Colombia’s coffee produce; these are the finest beans the country offers.

High on a hillside in Panama, abundant sunshine ripens Paso Ancho coffee cherries with astonishing uniformity.

Flanked on both ends by the Atlantic and Pacific, the region is bathed in humid ocean climates that are mitigated by dry winds rolling up the plains towards the Volcán Barú, Panama’s highest peak and only volcano.

This unique micro-region produces a rare, sought after coffee. Just 450 bags of blended varietals from the Paso Ancho region are produced each year, milled at the award-winning Carmen Estate. With elegant flavors of lemon and pepper, and a delicate, floral-toned acidity, it’s a graceful coffee that we’re honored to share.

On the Wahana Estate in Sumatra, Indonesia, a new generation of coffee farmers is challenging tradition.

While semi-washing has long been the preferred processing method for Sumatran coffees, these Rasuna cherries are laid in the sun to dry, allowing the cherry pulp to infuse each bean with a lush natural sweetness.

This is our first ever sun-dried Sumatran coffee, a spicy and full-bodied prize displaying complex flavors of rhubarb jam and tarragon. It’s a surprising cup, and a coffee that’s forging new traditions in Sumatra.
