こねくり回していたら、
なんとなく、
気になるカタチになった。
どうしてこのカタチになったのか。
最初から、
明確な答えがあったわけではない。
手を動かし、
あれこれと試しているうちに、
ふと目に留まったカタチ。
だけど、
これはまだ、きっかけのひとつ。
この意匠をもとに、
その先にある想いを探り、
少しずつカタチにしていく。
どんな姿へと変わっていくのか。
どんな物語を宿すことになるのか。
それは、まだわからない。
ただ、
ここから何かが始まろうとしている。
ひとつの意匠から、
ひとつの物語へ。
その道のりは、
まだ始まったばかり。
想いが先にあるときも、
カタチが先に生まれるときも。
どちらも、やがて
ひとつの装心具へとつながっていく。
始まりは違っても、
目指すところは同じ。
想いをカタチにすること。
それが、ものづくりの原点。
As I worked and reworked it,
somehow,
it became a shape that caught my eye.
How did it come to take this form?
There was no clear answer
from the very beginning.
I kept working with my hands,
trying this and that,
until a shape suddenly caught my attention.
But this
is only one small beginning.
Taking this design as a starting point,
I will search for the feelings that lie beyond it,
slowly giving them form.
What shape will it eventually take?
What story will it come to hold?
For now,
I do not yet know.
All I know
is that something is about to begin here.
From a single design,
a story begins to unfold.
The journey
has only just begun.
Sometimes, a feeling comes first.
Sometimes, a shape takes form before the feeling.
Both paths, in time,
lead to a single piece of Sou-shin-gu.
Though their beginnings may differ,
they share the same destination.
To give shape to what the heart holds.
That is where the art of making begins.
