Founded in 1939 but unfortunately canceled because of the start of WW2, the Cannes Festival has been taking place in the city of Cannes, a city close to Nice in the South of France, every year for 12 days since 1946. It’s been well known as an international film festival from 1946 to 2003. The main goal of this festival is to reward the best movie, actor, actress, etc. of the year. Alongside this main goal, it’s also an occasion to be seen at, so most people working in this industry do their best to make room in their agenda so they can attend the festival. Some try to be sober and classy, while others do their best to catch the eyes. It has become a habit to watch actors and actresses walking up the red carpet while commenting on their looks for better of for worse.
Do you pay attention to the Cannes Film Festival every year, or do you usually not pay attention to it?

この映画祭の主な目的は、その年に最も優れた映画、俳優、女優などを表彰することです！そして、この映画祭は人に見られる機会でもあるため、この業界で働く人々のほとんどは、映画祭に出席出来るよう、出来る限り自分のスケジュールを空けています。シンプルで上品な人もいれば、人目を引くためにベストを尽くす人もいます。レッドカーペットを歩く俳優や女優を見ながら、良くも悪くもそのルックスについてコメントをするのが習慣になっているようです。
