Mr. Masahiro Fukui living in Kouchi Prefecture sent me by mail a leaflet about Sada-aki Akamatsu, a famous flying ace during the Pacific War. Mr. Fukui also emailed me Akamatsu’s personal records: “Achievement Record”, “Record of Examination for the Conferment of Honor”, “Record of Military Career”, “Original Record of Personal History”. Mr. Fukui also emailed me seven photos of Akamatsu taken after the War.
I am impressed. All the photos and all the records are newly discovered materials. “Achievement Record”, “Record of Examination for the Conferment of Honor”, “Record of Military Career”, and “Original Record of Personal History” are all newly discovered primary sources, and I believe that this kind of approach must become the new axis for studying the history of the World War Ⅱ.
I expect Mr. Fukui's continued successes.
