In the morning of Nov 25th, 1943, four Oscars, or a fighter Hayabusa’s flight, led by 1st Lieutenant Yohei Hinoki, took off from Mingaladon Airfield in Rangoon, Burma, to intercept the US air raid unit which included bombers and fighters.  The US attackers planned to bomb Rangoon, or now Yangon.  On this day, three US plans crashed according to official documents: two P-51A Mustangs and a B-24 Liberator bomber.  Two Mustangs were flown by 2nd Lt. Robert Lokett and Colonel Melton, and B-24 by 1st Lt. Ingham.

After the 2nd World War, a book, “Bloody Battles by Wings”, was published by the name, Yohei Hinoki, as its author.   In this book, Hinoki describes he shot down a Mustang on this day.

The two pictures below show the Missing Air Crew Report of 2nd Lt. Lokett, describing the situation when his Mustang was downed.  The bullets Hinoki shot must have hit the Mustang.

The below map shows the place where the Rokett's Mustang was spotted last.   The red mark is the place.

The four documents below are the Missing Air Crew Report of B-24 Liberator bomber, the commander of which was 1st Lt. Thomas Ingham.  The bomber crashed before it reached its target, and the cause of the fate was unknown.
