The last few days have been so busy! Especially the weekend, I was pretty much constantly doing stuff from Friday evening til Sunday night. I wrote an entry about it on Monday, but my computer crashed before I could post it so it got lost :( Maybe I`ll try and write it again later this week if I have time.

I can`t believe its already my last week here, and there are only 2 days left. It`s going to be sad to leave because I`ve really enjoyed myself. Everyone at the hosptial has been really friendly and taught me a lot and I`ve had the chance to see lots of interesting stuff. Luckily I still have one more week left in Japan after I leave here, so I still have a little bit of time before I go back to England. I want to stay here longer, but I have to start university again in two weeks so I need to be back in time for that.

This week has also been pretty busy so far. On Tuesday I went to watch some fireworks with friends. They were really pretty! I wish we had firework displays in the summer in the UK too, but most of our fireworks displays are in Novemeber and its way too cold then! Then again, in the UK in summer it doesn`t get dark until 9-10pm so if we had fireworks in the summer they would have to be late at night I guess, whereas here it gets dark really early even in summer. Tonight I`ve been packing as I have to move out of my hosptial accommodation on Friday so I need to be ready and tomorrow I won`t have much time to pack as I`m going to watch a D gig in Saitama. I`m looking forward to that!

Anyway, now I have to go and pack more stuff.

Wow time has been going by so fast I can`t believe I`ve already been here more than 3 weeks. This week has been so busy. I had some essays to write so those took up quite a lot of time but now one is finished and the other just needs to be referenced then its all sorted. Phew. Tonight I went out with a friend to a restaurant where they were having a middle eastern themed event. There was a buffet with delicious food and some cool live music and dance so it was a good evening. After that we popped into a bar for a drink before heading home. It was really great to see my friend again as I hadn`t seen her for such a long time and it was really nice to catch up.
Tonight after I got back, I couldn`t sleep well so I ended up watching the first few eps of the new season of true blood. The ending of season 3 was pretty tense so I`ve been really looking forward to this season but the first episode was totally crazy. None the less, its awesome to have more true blood again, I love that show so much. Also this season looks to have plenty of Eric in it which is always welcome :p TB and Game of Thrones are the best things on TV (HBO is awesome).

Awesome trailers for GoT and TB4:

Talking of GoT, the recent TV show and the release of the new book has prompted me to re^read the whole song of ice and fire series and I`ve almost finished the first book of storm of swords now. So good, its making me really look forward to reading the new book. I can`t wait to lay my hands on it once I get back to the UK.

argh its nearly 5am.

Time for bed.

Hrm....looks like its been a pretty long time since I last wrote anything in here. The last few months have been pretty busy with various placements and, of course, the dreaded pathology finals (plus O+G and Paeds finals) but the exams finally finished a couple of weeks back and I was relieved to find I passed everything so now I have a bit more time for a few months til exam season comes round again. Phew.

At the moment I`m doing a medical elective placement for a few weeks in Tokyo. I arrived in Japan last weekend and have now finished the first week of my placement. As usual, I caught a cold on the plane but that seems to be getting better now (every time I fly anywhere for more than 2-3 hours I seem to catch a horrible cold, guess its the recirculated air). The placement is really great. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I`ve seen lots of interesting operations so far and the teaching is very good. Even in only one week I feel like I`ve learnt a lot so I`m really enjoying it. A lot of the doctors speak very good english and have been kindly explaining things to me which is very helpful. It`s been a long time since I was last in Japan and when I first arrived last weekend, I felt like I had forgotten all the Japanese I knew and I couldn`t understand things but its been coming back gradually over the week and I`m starting to understand again slowly. I have to learn some Japanese medical vocabulary though, as I don`t know much at the moment. Also, I `ve met some really nice and friendly Japanese medical students and yesterday evening we went out together for some delicious icecreams which was awesome .

Today I think I`m going to go out and visit some places around the city, though even now I haven`t really decided where to go lol. Guess I should decide soon. It`s really hot though, so I`m reluctant to go outside, but I guess I`ll get used to it in a while.
